-January Newsletter –   Black belt We finished off 2018 with three new black belts at the club! Congratulations to Daisy, Thea and Sean who sat and passed their black belt just before Christmas! Grading results  We also had a colour belt grading in December, congratulations to all the new grades Yellow tags- AB Yellow belt- Clem, Beatrix and Rory Green tags – Charlotte, Holly and Hannah Green belt – Joe Blue tag- Phoebe Blue belt – Ines, Elliot, Hamish, Arrington, Tom and Ivy Red belt – Adeena Black tags – Olivia Special well done to our star performer Hamish Next grading date Our next grading date will be Saturday the 26th of January at 12.15pm. The cost of the gradings this year will increase slightly to £30, this is the first increase the club has ever made to gradings. Full details of the syllabus can be found online at www.titantkd.com.   Hoodie order We will be putting in an order for hoodies and tshirts next week, if you would like to order one just give your size to your instructor. Hoodies are priced at £15 and tshirts £8    

-November Newsletter –   My bad!!!! Apologies for last weeks Saturday classes being cancelled. I was given notice in the summer that the hall would be unavailable and I diligently wrote this on my wall calendar at the time…then completely forgot to look at said calendar. I have never managed to do this before and apologies for any inconvenience. Congratulations to all the new Titan grades who passed their grading in October Yellow belt; Stella Layla Cian Green Belt; Rhys James Robin   Congratulations to our star performer Rhys! The next grading will be on Saturday the 1stth December at 12.15. Full details of the syllabus can be found online at www.titantkd.com. This grading will also be an opportunity for our  black tag candidates to sit a mock black belt grading at no cost.   Cancelled class There will be no classes on Tuesday 13th November as there is line painting on the floor, Thursday classes will be back on as normal. Next competition The next event for the club will be the GTA 1-2-1 on Sunday the 2nd December at Caledonian Taekwondo Health and fitness centre. The event will host sparring, patterns and breaking and it costs £15 to enter as many divisions as you wish. Christmas party Our Christmas party this year will be held on the 8th December from 3-4.30pm at Craigholme Sports Complex. We will have cakes, games,  and bouncy castle fun. Just let your instructor know if you can attend so we can cater for the correct number. Sparring class There is now a team training class on Saturdays at 12.15pm after regular classes. The next grading will be on Saturday the 27th October at 12.15. Full details of the syllabus can be found online at www.titantkd.com Cancelled class There will be no classes on Saturday the 20th of October as the facility is unavailable, students are welcome to drop in to our mid week classes to make up for the missed class. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.   McMillan coffee morning Thank you to everyone who supported our MacMillan coffee morning we managed to raise £264.50 Team Titan at the GTA 1-2-1 Well done to Saif who took part in the GTA 1-2-1, this time it was held by RAW Taekwondo in Cumbernauld! Sparring class There is now a team training class on Saturdays at 12.15pm after regular classes. This is open to green tags and up and all adults. If you are already on a full membership there is no extra charge for this class, if you pay for one class a week your payment will go from £22 a month to £30 a month. There is no sparring class on the last Saturday of every month as this is reserved for our monthly gradings. Full details of the syllabus can be found online at www.titantkd.com   McMillan coffee morning Last year we ran a coffee morning and we raised £250 for the charity. It was such great fun we have decided to run another one this year on Saturday the 22nd of September. Feel free to pop down and enjoy some TKD and cake! Shawlands Academy Festival of sport  Titan Taekwondo will be attending the Shawlands Academy festival of sport on Saturday the 15th of September. We are looking for advanced students who will be willing to help out at the event with demonstrations. If you can help with this please let your instructor know. Please note all classes will also be running as normal.   Team Titan at the GTA 1-2-1 Well done to our team who took part in in the Glasgow Taekwondo Association 1-2-1 competition. These events are development competitions designed to introduce students to a competitive environment in a friendly atmosphere. The next grading will be on Saturday the 25th Aug at 12.15. Full details of the syllabus can be found online at www.titantkd.com   Change of payment system As Titan taekwondo continues to grow we are now using a company called Ashborne who will collect payments via direct debit rather than standing order and also help with the communication and management of classes. I will be asking people to change over payments from standing orders to the new direct debit system, please continue to pay for classes as normal until I speak to you in class to explain the process. The cost of the classes are not going to change. Next event The next competition for Titan TKD will be on Sunday the 12th Aug at Craigholme sports centre from 9.30 – 2pm. The competition will include sparring, poomsae and breaking and costs 15pp to enter as many divisions as you wish. -June news letter –   Changes in class times on Saturdays from July Our class times on a Saturday are going to change slightly from July. As we now have access to the full hall for part of the time on Saturdays we will be changing the class times to provide a more efficient class schedule and it will also allow us to trial a specific sparring class for the first time. The new class times are as follows Saturday 9.45-10.15          Tot kwon do 10.15-11.15        Beginner 11.15-12.15        Intermediate and Advanced 12.15-1.15          Sparring class Our mid week classes remain the same Tuesday 6pm-7pm            Grading class Thursday 6pm – 7pm          Taekwondo for all However the last Saturday of every month will always be our monthly grading instead of the sparring class. We are going to trial this format for 2 months to see if there is demand for a sparring specific class. Currently we offer a one class a week option for students at £22 a month or £37 two kids. From July we will no longer offer this to new students joining the club, if you are currently paying this and do not wish to add any additional classes (midweek or sparring) there will be no change to your fees. If you currently pay for one session a week and wish to attend our new sparring class the cost would increase from £22 a month to £30 a month. If you use a family membership the cost increases from £37 a month to £47 a month for 2 children. -May newsletter-   Data Protection Due to new data protection rules that will shortly be coming in to force we are required to ask everyone to opt in to receive our emails about Titan.
