-December 2017 Newsletter-   Black belt Grading weekend The black belt grading weekend will be on Sunday the 17th December at 1pm Caledonian Taekwondo Health and Fitness Centre 358 Netherton RD G13 1AX   Prior to the Dan Grading there will be a seminar that is open to everyone that is red tags and above -10am onwards. Anyone wishing to become a dan grade in the next year is strongly encouraged to attend. The seminar is free to attend. Colour belt grading The next grading for colour belts is on Tuesday the 19th December from 7-8. Details of grading requirements can be found online at www.titantkd.com students are required to know all comonents before moving to the next grade. Star Performer This months star performer was Daisy. Well Done!         Our next Competition The next competition for the club will be on Sunday the 21st Jan at Caledonian Health and Fitness Centre. There will be Patterns, board breaking and sparring. The event will cost £15 to enter and covers all divisions. Christmas Party

Our Christmas Party is fast approaching and will take place this Saturday at Gravity Trampoline park in INTU @ Breahead. The session will start at 11am however all students should be there for 10.30am to sign in. We also have a party room booked afterwards and as its also the cubs 10th Birthday we will have some cake afterwards. Everyone taking part must complete a waiver which can be downloaded here; Waiver for schools v3.3 FINAL 21.03.17 EDITED (1)Titan Could you make sure all jumpers have comfortable clothes on, with no ties, to reduce the chance of them getting caught. There are changing rooms and lockers (free for use) available for if you wish to bring a change of clothes. See you all on Saturday!

Classes – Saturday 25th Nov

Remember we are running our mammoth class on Saturday from 11.15 – 12.15 due to the school running an event that morning. All classes will be running at the same time as we have the whole hall. Afterwards there will be a sparring class from 12.15 – 1.15 if students choose to stay on. Unfortunately we cannot run a tots class on Saturday. If these new times do not suit remember we have classes on a Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7 that students can attend instead. Enjoy your lie in on Saturday

Cale v Titan & Springburn competition reports

Well done to all the Titans who took part in recent competitions, both events had poomsae, breaking and sparring divisions. Rowan, Tom, and Pheobe took part in the Cale V Titan beginners competition hosted by Caledonian TKD in Anniesland and Olivia Sean and Noah took part in the Springburn 1-2-1 event. Elliot had a busy month taking part in both events. For most of the Titans it was their first competition, well done!

Next grading date

The next grading date is Tuesday the 28th November at 6pm, the full syllabus can be found online and forms can be downloaded here grading_form (1). The cost of the grading is £25 for adults and kids.

Titan V Cale

We have our Titan V Cale mini event this Saturday at Caledonian Taekwondo Health and Fitness Centre for all blue tags and below. The event has three different divisions sparring, poomsae and breaking, students can enter as many divisions as they wish. The cost to enter is £15 with all proceeds split between the two clubs. There will also be a charity bake sale at the event and money raised will go towards Scottish Autism.

MacMillan Coffee Morning Huge thank you to everyone who attended and brought goodies down the mac Millan coffee morning on the 23rd September. We managed to raise £141.21, well done everyone! Next grading date The next grading date is Sunday the 15th of October at 1.30pm, details of the grading requirements and training videos can be found online at www.titantkd.com, in order to move to the next grade students are required to achieve all their new requirements. Price for kids and adults to grade is £25. Next competition – Titan V Caledonian Our next competition is on Saturday the 28th at 2.30pm at Caledonian Health and Fitness Centre in Anniesland. This is a 1-2-1 development sparring competition for blue belts and below and the cost to enter is £10 pp. We would encourage students over blue belt to attend to assist with the competition and learn how to use electronic scoring systems. All profits from the event will be split between the two teams. There will also be a bake sale at the event with all proceeds going to the charity Scottish Autism   Glasgow Taekwondo Association Competition – Sunday Nov 12th The next GTA event will be held at Springburn leisure centre on Sunday the 12th of November at 11.30am. The competition will include sparring (no headshots), poomsae and breaking. This event is suitable for all ages and grades. Titan Class times Titan runs classes 3 days a week; Tuesdays 6pm – patterns and traditional Thursday 6pm – Taekwondo for all ages Saturdays 9.15 – Totkwondo ages 3+ 9.45- Beginners 10.45 – Intermediate 11.45 – Advanced Students are advised to attend more than one class per week as they get closer to their black belt exam  

Next event – Titan v Caledonian

The next competition for the club is on Saturday 28th October at Caledonian Taekwondo Centre, from 2pm onwards. There is sparring, patterns and board breaking at the event. The cost is £15 to enter.  As this is a beginner’s competition you must be between white belt and blue tags on the day of the event to take part. There will be a bake sale with coffee and tea available with all money from the sale being donated to the charity Scottish Autism.
