Competition Information
Team Titan recently hosted a Glasgow Taekwondo Association 1-2-1 event at our own venue Craigholme sports complex. We had a team of 7 take part in the event which included patterns, breaking and poomsae. It was a fantastic performance from the team who all gained excellent experience from the event. The next GTA event will be held at the end of September.
Our next event will be on Sunday the 12th August. The next competition for Titan TKD will be on Sunday the 12th Aug at Craigholme sports centre from 9.30 – 2pm. The competition will include sparring, poomsae and breaking and costs 15pp to enter as many divisions as you wish. If you would like to enter please register with your instructor in class. We always need volunteers to help these events run smoothly it is also an excellent opportunity for referees to practice their skills in a friendly environment. Just comment below if you can help out.
Well done to all the Titans who took part in recent competitions, both events had poomsae, breaking and sparring divisions. Rowan, Tom, and Pheobe took part in the Cale V Titan beginners competition hosted by Caledonian TKD in Anniesland and Olivia Sean and Noah took part in the Springburn 1-2-1 event. Elliot had a busy month taking part in both events. For most of the Titans it was their first competition, well done!
We have our Titan V Cale mini event this Saturday at Caledonian Taekwondo Health and Fitness Centre for all blue tags and below. The event has three different divisions sparring, poomsae and breaking, students can enter as many divisions as they wish. The cost to enter is £15 with all proceeds split between the two clubs. There will also be a charity bake sale at the event and money raised will go towards Scottish Autism.
The next competition for the club is on Saturday 28th October at Caledonian Taekwondo Centre, from 2pm onwards. There is sparring, patterns and board breaking at the event. The cost is £15 to enter. As this is a beginner’s competition you must be between white belt and blue tags on the day of the event to take part. There will be a bake sale with coffee and tea available with all money from the sale being donated to the charity Scottish Autism.

The next GTA event is this weekend on the 8th of Nov hosted by RAW taekwondo, this is a beginner tournament suitable for all grades. Cost is £10 PP
Team travelled up to Elgin this weekend for the Highland Open hosted by focus taekwondo. Paris represented Team Titan and put in an awesome performance in the final finishing 7-5 taking the silver medal. Well done Paris!

The last week of term was a busy one for Titan Taekwondo! We attended 3 Sports Days at schools in the South Side of Glasgow. Taekwondo was one of many sports that Shawlands, Langside and Battlefied Primary decided to offer to their students. It was a fantastic opportunity for Titan to get out into the community and we look forward to working with the schools in the future.
